UW Research Experience for Teachers Program now recruiting secondary STEM teachers

Join us for the Summer 2021 Research Experience for Teachers (RET) Program at the Center for Neurotechnology
  • Are you interested in neuroscience, engineering, and neurotechnologies?
  • Would you like to spend your summer working on an authentic engineering, science, or computational research project while also designing innovative curriculum materials?
  • Join our professional learning community of enthusiastic STEM educators this summer!
About the RET Program: The Center for Neurotechnology at the University of Washington sponsors a seven-week summer research program for middle school and high school STEM teachers. Teachers selected for the program participate in ongoing research projects with researchers and have the opportunity to develop new classroom lesson plans based on their research experiences. A stipend of $7,000 is provided for the seven-week program.

Program Dates: The 2021 RET summer program will be held from June 21 - July 30, 2021 with a flexible start based on school schedules.

Apply Now: Applications for the 2021 RET program are now being accepted and are due by February 14, 2021.

COVID Contingency: Due to changing health and safety regulations, it is uncertain if the program will be in-person, virtual, or hybrid. Regardless, we will make it a great summer experience, just like we did with our fully remote program last summer (read about it here). Due to the possibility of a virtual or hybrid program, we welcome applications from both local teachers (able to commute to/from campus) and those further afield who will participate remotely. Unlike previous years, you do not have to live within commuting distance of the UW-Seattle campus.
