IslandWood's FREE Professional Development Course with STEM and Equity Clock Hours

Did you know idling cars during school pickup impacts air quality and the environment? Have you ever wondered about the role of trees in relation to air quality? Learn how to use an engineering design focused action project to motivate and empower your students.

This Community-Centered Climate Action Course for 3rd - 5th Grade Teachers includes:

  • 8 STEM and 2 Equity clock hours:
    for four online after-school sessions (January 10th through May 15th) and one Saturday (in-person in Tacoma on January 13th or online on January 20th)

  • An additional 2 STEM and 1 Equity clock hours:
    for teachers who implement lessons, complete check-ins and reflect on their student's work.

EarthGen: Climate Justice League, Assemble!

EarthGen is excited to share t his cohort-based learning opportunity designed for teachers across Washington State to deepen their Climate Justice learning. Climate Justice League, Assemble! When: Feb 15 2024 9AM - 3PM Where: Good Shepherd Center in Seattle Climate Justice League, Assemble!  is an  in-person offering on  February 15th from 9am-3pm at the Good Shepherd Center in Seattle  and will provide teachers opportunities to critically define climate justice education and improve their understanding of Anti-racist and Anti-colonial science teaching.
