The Assessment Development office is hosting two webinars in January to support the release of the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) Training Tests and the Test & Item Specifications documents. The webinars will be recorded and be available through your district test coordinator.Date/Time: Wednesday, January 10, 3:30-5:00 p.m.Title: How to Work with the WCAS Training TestsDescription: Walk through the new science training tests and learn important information for teachers and students to focus on as they use the training tests.Date/Time: Wednesday, January 24, 3:30-5:00 p.m.Title: Science Test and Item Specifications ReleaseDescription: Review of information contained in the WCAS Test and Item Specifications documents.After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.The WCAS Training Tests are scheduled to go live on the WCAP Portal on Thursday, December 21 and the initial WCAS Test & Item Specifications documents are scheduled to be posted to the Science Assessment webpage by Friday, December 29.

EarthGen is excited to share t his cohort-based learning opportunity designed for teachers across Washington State to deepen their Climate Justice learning. Climate Justice League, Assemble! When: Feb 15 2024 9AM - 3PM Where: Good Shepherd Center in Seattle Climate Justice League, Assemble! is an in-person offering on February 15th from 9am-3pm at the Good Shepherd Center in Seattle and will provide teachers opportunities to critically define climate justice education and improve their understanding of Anti-racist and Anti-colonial science teaching. Educators will be invited to participate in online communities of practice following the workshop. A few things to note: While this learning opportunity is designed for folks that have participated in the Climate Justice League, we are excited to have space for new registrants!
